Sitka Non-Motorized
Transportation Plan
Sitka, Alaska

The community of Sitka has 3 times
the national average for walking and over six times the average for cycling as a primary
transportation mode. To meet these demands, a non-motorized transportation plan was
developed to create an efficient, safe and seamless system for pedestrians, cyclists,
scooters, in-line skaters and kayakers. These new routes will link destinations throughout
the community and enhance the quality of life for Sitka.
