Ketchikan High School Renovation
This project consisted of replacing approximately two thirds of the existing High School facility and remodeling the remainder. One of the major challenges was to develop a design plan that would enable the construction and remodeling to occur, while maintaining the day to day operation of the school. To accomplish this, the project was divided into four phases which were completed over a three year period. The building features a central commons area from which classrooms and other spaces radiate. Some features of this building include: unique commons spaces, pre-fabricated exterior wall system clad in ceramic tile and renovation of the unusual vaulted gymnasium. This project was completed as a joint venture with MRV Architects.
